Folic Acid
It’s well known that pregnant women are often advised to take folic acid, and that many breakfast cereals are fortified with it. The reason for this is that it assists with the rapid cell division required by developing foetuses. However, it’s essential that all people – children and adults – maintain a regular source of folic acid. Folic acid also has about as many names as the average parent-to-be has for their child, including folate, vitamin M, vitamin B9, Vitamin Bc or folacin. If you’re concerned about the amount of folic acid you’re getting, consider these supplements that contain it in recommended amounts.
