Here to provide you with expert support and product knowledge, the Nutri Advanced nutrition experts are responsible for co-ordinating and implementing our extensive education programme – involving live webinars, seminars, group training and personal visits – as well as producing a comprehensive range of technical materials to support our range of products and services. To ensure we remain at the cutting edge of scientific discovery and innovation, the team also undertakes research and development of new products, and makes upgrades and improvements to our existing ones. Other core activities include business development, promotional strategy, programme development and regulatory affairs.
Katherine Pardo BSc (Hons), Dip ION
Head Of Nutrition & Education
After beginning her career as a writer and editor for various healthcare publications, Katherine trained as a Nutritional Therapist, graduating from London’s Institute for Optimum Nutrition in 2001. She went on to practice as a Nutritional Therapist before becoming Nutrition Team Manager at Nutri Advanced, where she heads our team of nutritionists, writers and researchers who together develop Nutri Advanced’s range of innovative products, programmes and educational resources. With nearly 20 years’ experience in the industry, Katherine is a regular contributor to publications such as Nutrition i-Mag, True Health Magazine and Natural Pharmacy Business magazine.
Sarah Sharpe BSc (Hons)
Sarah studied Nutrition at the University of Surrey before joining Nutri Advanced in 2003. Now a Senior Nutritionist, she furthers her knowledge with courses such as annual IFM symposiums. Sarah takes a leading role with our industry leading education suite of seminars, webinars and case studies, working with well-known personalities such as Dr. Jeffrey Bland, Dr. Joe Pizzorno and Jo Gamble. Sarah hosts a number of our programmes herself and is particularly passionate about the role of nutrition in relation to detox and hormones.
Gemma Khoo BSc (Hons), MSc
Nutritionist & Regulatory Affairs Manager
Gemma came to Nutri Advanced after completing a Masters degree in Nutrition at King’s College London and has been a key member of the busy nutrition department for over 10 years now, bringing extensive product and technical knowledge to the team. Gemma manages the regulatory affairs for Nutri Advanced as well as the company’s product development pipeline, regularly attending industry and trade events both in the UK and abroad to keep abreast of the latest trends and innovations, helping to ensure that Nutri Advanced’s products remain at the cutting edge of research.
Laura Murphy BSc (Hons), MSc, Dip NT
Laura joined Nutri Advanced in 2013 with an MSc in Public Health Nutrition from Edinburgh Queen Margaret University and has since completed a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy at the prestigious College of Naturopathic Medicine during her time at Nutri Advanced. She is a key member of Nutri Advanced’s busy nutrition department providing technical advice to practitioners, alongside assisting with research and product development. Taking particular interest in gut health, Laura has an ever-growing enthusiasm for nutrition that has developed throughout her extensive education and during her time at Nutri Advanced.
Elouise Bauskis ND, BSc, DN, DBM

Elouise is an Australian-trained Naturopath, Nutritional Therapist and Herbalist with 15 years’ experience in private clinical practice and 20 years’ experience within the Complementary and Alternative Medicine Industry. She is a fully registered and insured Practitioner and a member of both the Association of Master Herbalists and the General Naturopathic Council. Elouise has a wealth of knowledge and experience, expanded and honed over many years. She is able to translate complicated information into easily understood and logical concepts for clients and is inspired to educate and empower them to make life-long, positive health changes.
Rachel Bartholomew BA (Hons), Dip ION, mBANT, CNHC, GHW
Nutritionist & Health Writer
Rachel is a Nutritional Therapist & Health Writer with a special interest in Functional and Lifestyle Medicine. She combines her own clinical practice in Lancashire with writing and research for Nutri Advanced, enhancing our suite of educational resources. Rachel graduated from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in 2004 and has since completed NLP practitioner training. She is a member of the British Association for Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine, the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council and the Guild of Health Writers. Rachel regularly attends training events such as the 2018 Institute for Functional Medicine Annual International Conference on Autoimmunity in Florida. Her collaborations with industry professionals and ongoing research ensures an up to date position in this ever-changing field.
Sam Cornell BA (Hons), DipNT, mBANT, CNHC
Based in Twickenham, Sam joins Nutri Advanced from BCNH where she worked as a Senior Clinical Tutor. Moving away from a previous career path in IT, Sam trained at BCNH and ION before working as a Nutritional Therapist from 2011. She specialises in autoimmune disease, sports nutrition and gut health and is a Board Trustee for charity ‘Action for A-T’.
Nicola Sainty NT, Dip SoN
Nicola joins Nutri Advanced as a Nutritional Therapist graduating from The School of Health in Stroud in both Anatomy & Physiology and Nutritional Therapy, after many years in the Corporate retail industry and subsequently running her own retail businesses. She further expanded her knowledge undertaking accredited programmes in Kinesiology techniques, Phytobiophysics, Blood Type, SWAMI and genetic DNA analysis programme Opus 23. She specialises in the application of Blood Type, genotype and the science of epigenetic expression and has written and produced three online health programmes. She is also a lecturer at The School of Health and continues to pursue her own studies to continually expand her knowledge.
Lucy Sparkes BA (Hons), DipCNM, mBANT
Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner
After starting out with a French degree from the University of Leeds and then spending some years in Marketing within prestigious Health & Beauty brands, Lucy then went on to study naturopathic nutrition at the well-regarded College of Naturopathic Medicine in London.
She is a BANT-registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner with well over a decade of clinical and professional experience within the Nutrition and Health industry. She runs her own Midlands-based practice specialising in IBS, IBD and digestive complaints in adults and children. She has a particular interest in family health and supporting those families and individuals with SEN and sensory issues. She loves to generate content and contribute to strategic initiatives for companies within the nutrition industry and is passionate about finding more and more ways to bring nutritional therapy to everyone!

Steven Sandberg-Lewis ND

Steven Sandberg-Lewis, ND is a practitioner of Naturopathic gastroenterology. He has been in practice for 40 years and in 1996 he joined the full-time faculty of the National University of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon. Now adjunct faculty, he continues to engage in patient care 3 days per week and is a key professor in the Gastroenterology Block Course and teaches several electives including Gastroenterology Laboratory, Advanced Gastroenterology and The Liver in Health and Disease. Dr. Sandberg-Lewis supervises the Gastroenterology Mentor Shift, giving student doctors the chance to work with complex digestive disorders in an off-campus small practice setting. Areas of special clinical and research focus include irritable bowel syndrome, SIBO, GERD, hiatal hernia, inflammatory bowel disease (including microscopic colitis), biliary dyskinesia, the sterolbiome, gastroparesis and chronic nausea/vomiting. Steven Sandberg-Lewis is a frequent presenter at educational seminars around the U.S. and beyond. He has authored or co-authored multiple articles, webinars and is frequently interviewed on digestive health topics. He has a regular column entitled ‘Functional Gastroenterology Bolus’ in the Townsend Letter.
Jeffrey Bland, PhD, FACN, FACB, CNS

Jeffrey Bland, PhD, FACN, FACB, CNS has been an internationally recognized leader in the nutritional medicine field for over 30 years. He is founder and president of the Personalized Lifestyle Medicine Institute, as well as founder and Chairman Emeritus of The Institute for Functional Medicine, the global leader in Functional Medicine education. Dr. Bland is an iconic figure in the natural products industry and held several key positions at Metagenics prior to his retirement from corporate life in 2012. A nutritional biochemist and registered clinical laboratory director, Dr. Bland was formerly Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Puget Sound and Director of Nutritional Research at the Linus Pauling Institute of Science and Medicine. Jo Gamble BA (Hons) DIP CNM AFMCP Fellow ICT chaired The Science of Health, both presenting a lecture herself and hosting the panel discussion. As a nutritional and behavioural therapist, Jo became the first UK Functional Medicine Practitioner by graduating from the prestigious Institute for Functional Medicine in 2013. She furthered her career with a fellowship in Integrative Cancer from the American Board of Anti-Aging Practitioners. Jo runs a busy private clinic in Coventry where she specialises in complex cases, digging deep into her clients' symptoms to both identify and treat the underlying root causes of chronic disease. Alongside clinical work, Jo inspires students to embark on a fulfilling career by lecturing in Nutrition at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM). Dr Joseph E. Pizzorno, Jr.

Dr. Joseph E. Pizzorno, Jr., appointed by President Clinton in December 2000 to the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy and by President Bush’ administration to the Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee in November 2002, is one of the world’s leading authorities on science-based natural medicine. A physician, educator, researcher and expert spokesperson, Dr. Pizzorno is founding president of Bastyr University. He is Editor-in-Chief of Integrative Medicine: A Clinicians Journal and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Functional Medicine. Licensed as a naturopathic physician in Washington State since 1975, he has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors for his academic, professional and public affairs leadership. Robyn is a Clinical Nutritionist with a specialised interest in the Functional Medicine approach to health. Robyn is very involved with the field of Coeliac Disease, Gluten-Reactive Disorders and Autoimmune Disease. Her passion for the healing power of food, has led her to work with complex cases, involving multiple diagnoses, and chronic health issues such as ME, auto-immune diseases and fibromyalgia. Amanda Hamilton has been one of the UK's most established nutritionists for over a decade with a career that has included more than eight internationally syndicated TV series and four books, the latest of which ‘The G-Plan Diet’ became a number one Amazon best-seller. Amanda writes several columns for national titles, and is a regular on BBC TV and radio. Day to day, Amanda remains at the helm of her retreat business and licensed spa programmes, these include her signature wellness menus and programmes in Sardinia, and regular hosted events in Spain, Scotland and England. She runs a clinic from her base in London. She is also a Pilates teacher. Her approach to food is first and foremost realistic; farm to table, lots of plants, minimal processing, sustainable produce, adding in gut-friendly foods and regular fasts for wider health benefits. However, there's room for strong espresso, artisan gin and tonic and home-made gingerbread (but not necessarily in that order).

Tanya Clarke BSc (Hons), DipNT, DipNAT, HbT
Tanya is a Nutritional Therapist and Naturopath specialising in inspiring people to achieve their own optimal health. Originally graduating from Durham University in 1986 with an Honours degree in Engineering & Management, Tanya then spent 30 years within the Construction Industry. During that time, with a young child, a busy manufacturing business to manage and a sick father to look after, Tanya faced a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis and the prospect of being confined to a wheelchair within 6 months. She decided to seek her own health answers. Many hours of research and with the support of her family, Tanya found the way to nudge her body back into a state of ease with no continuing signs or symptoms of the disease that she has a genetic predisposition for. Tanya opted to change her career and focus on her passion of health and wellness. She studied Naturopathic Nutrition and Naturopathy at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London, graduating in 2019. When she is not in her clinic, where she specialises in chronic health conditions using her registered trademark most healthy you®, Tanya is following her other passions of food, cooking and outdoor life especially being with her horses and dogs.
Paul is a Master Personal Trainer & graduate of the Centre of Integrated Sports Nutrition, he has run his Exercise/Nutrition/Lifestyle Consultancy company for over 20 years, regularly lectures and contributes to a number of publications. Recently retired from competitive sport Paul has been British and regional champion as well as competing for GB abroad. In addition to providing advice to a variety of athletes Paul is passionate about the use of exercise/activity along with nutrition and lifestyle to prevent and manage both chronic disease and to help us all age well.
Ruth Templeton MSc
Ruth has an MSc in Personalised Nutrition, during which she wrote her dissertation on Tight Junction Dysfunction and the Inflammatory Response. This instilled a fascination with nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics, and she continues to focus her interest in this growing field, specifically around autoimmunity, mental health and wellbeing. Ruth strongly believes that knowing how we are made genetically can empower us as individuals to take control over decisions around nutrition, environment and lifestyle to determine outcome and how we experience our journey in health.
Joanna Oates is a Nutritional Therapist & Psychotherapist with eating disorders training from the National Centre for Eating Disorders. Her practice is mostly devoted to clients with eating disorders and disordered eating, although she does still see a number of clients with other issues such as digestive and also thyroid issues. Joanna has been working with clients with eating disorders and disordered eating for about the last 7-8 years. She works with the full range of eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and other disorders), and is passionate about helping people manage and recover from these disorders. Being able to use her nutritional training alongside my psychotherapeutic training is really useful, especially as some clients have complex physiological health issues as well as eating disorders, so can benefit from a functional approach to managing their health, diet and lifestyle. She is also a trained & experienced teacher and teaches nutritional therapy part-time at University of West London.
Dr Adigo Atabo
Dr Adigo Atabo studied medicine at The University of Nottingham, with postgraduate training in plastic surgery. Out of an interest in nutritional medicine, Dr Atabo became a certified functional medicine practitioner. Her love of detail, data management skills from having been a software developer, and clinical experience in systems biology have culminated in Persomic, a digital health platform for the systems analysis of biomarkers for personalised, precision nutrition and lifestyle therapy - she is the Founder and CEO.
Lisa Lawson BA (Hons), MBACP (Accred)
Since graduating with a First-Class Honours degree as a PCE Psychotherapist, Lisa works in private practice in Lancashire, and as a Psychological Therapist with front-line emergency services. Lisa continues to evolve an integrative approach to psychotherapy, combining Trauma-Focused CBT, and this year will become qualified as an EMDR practitioner. In her private practice Lisa works with adults, young people and also with children and parents/guardians within school settings. Lisa has a special interest in promoting and supporting healthy family relationships; incorporating mindfulness as part of her holistic approach. She also works therapeutically with university students on Counselling and Psychotherapy Degree courses. As well as maintaining her continual professional development and ethical practice by regularly attending training events, Lisa ensures practice and processes are up to date with all current guidelines and research.
Jade Mottley BSc (Hons)
Jade is a Fitness and Nutrition Consultant / Coach and is currently studying a masters in Human Nutrition. She has a special interest and knowledge base around sports and fitness and combines her coaching practice with writing. Jade graduated in 2012 from Bangor University in Sport Science and has since completed her Precision Nutrition Sport and Exercise qualification. Continuing her studying whilst still working is enabling Jade to keep up to date with evidence-based research and be given the opportunities for application.

Mandy Pearson MA (Hons), is an accredited and skilled NLP Trainer, Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher, Consultant and Coach. She has studied psychology from many different perspectives, firstly at university as part of her Masters Degree followed by extensive training in Counselling, Clinical Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy, Coaching and NLP over 20 years. As a Reiki Master Teacher and Spiritual Development Coach she integrates the practice of mindfulness into all aspects of her work. As the Director of Sea Star Training & Head of Leadership at 6th Door Training Ltd she is known as ‘the happiness consultant’ delivering NLP and Mindfulness based Communications trainings and corporate, organisational and one to one Mindful leadership training & coaching throughout the country. She lives in Southport with her family & Tibetan terriers and likes to start every day with a mindful dog walk in the sandhills.
Alex has a MSc in Personalised Nutrition, during which he wrote his dissertation on glucocorticoid resistance in chronic fatigue syndrome. He is one of thirteen fully certified Functional Medicine practitioners in the UK (as of January 2017), having completed his studies with The Institute For Functional Medicine. He lectures on both MSc and BSc programmes and is also currently certifying as a Life Coach and has been a personal trainer for over a decade with numerous qualifications in movement assessment, corrective exercise and performance enhancement. With this breadth of knowledge Alex is fortunate to work with a wide range of clients from professional athletes to those suffering with chronic health conditions. He has a particular interest in the gut-bran axis and PNI and loves coffee, dark chocolate and apple crumble.
Fiona Campbell BA GNC BANT MTI CNHC
Registered Naturopath and Nutritionist, Fiona Campbell is a writer, TV and radio presenter, and experienced clinician who has featured in several magazines nationally and internationally. She is a regular guest on BBC Radio Bristol and Sky News and recently led the debate on sugar with NTV Kenya. She also works with some of her favourite brands, such as Lizi’s Granola, Nutri, Pulsin and Naturya on new product development and consumer education. Fiona’s key mission is to dispel the myths and “food fear” we encounter through the press and social media, and to direct us back towards whole healthy food, sensible things like getting a better night’s sleep, and a balanced lifestyle that allows for prosecco, chocolate and cake.
